Senior Accountant

Full time – Victoria BC

We are looking for a self-starter to join our Accounting team in Victoria. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, be able to liaise with operational managers and staff, and demonstrate a strong sense of urgency while meeting deadlines and changing proprieties.   • Possess sound knowledge of accounting practices including a good understanding of financial statements and budget processes.

  • Maintain, create and report regular analytical reporting to assist Operations Managers in their decision making.

  • Prepare monthly and year-end financial reports.

  • Prepare budgets and related reporting, ad hoc financial reporting, management reports

  • Performs variance analysis.

  • Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all financial and accounting activities within a cloud-based accounting and document storage system

  • Preparing PST, GST remittances and T1 and T2 corporate tax returns

  • Assist Accounting Manger to create and maintain internal control policy and procedures

  • Support other team members on the needs of the Finance & Operations of the organization

  • Assist Accounting Manager in day-to-day responsibilities, such as analyzing accounting issues, drafting technical memos, capital project reviews, etc.


  • Recent CPA designation or nearing qualification

  • 2+ years of experience in an accountant role.

  • Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must have a good eye for detail, well organized and deadline orientated.

  • Adaptable, versatile, able to multi-task and use initiative within a busy environment.

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.

  • Self-motivated with a positive, professional attitude.

  • Supervisory skills would be considered an asset.

  • Experience in a multi-company environment is beneficial.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
